The EinScan HX, and what to buy now
Superseded model. The HX is the scanner that brought hybrid light to the EinScan handheld line — blue LED and blue laser in one body — and this page stays up because people still search for it, often with the machine already in front of them or a spec sheet from a reseller. What it is not is current stock: the versions to look at today are in the EinScan professional range and, where dimensions have to be proved, the FreeScan metrology range.

For reference, the HX itself was a hybrid scanner: up to 0.05 mm accuracy in blue-LED mode and up to 0.04 mm in laser mode, volumetric accuracy of 0.05 + 0.1 mm/m and 0.04 + 0.06 mm/m respectively, point distance from 0.05 mm, a 470 mm working distance and a built-in colour camera. Those were strong figures in their generation; the range has moved on since.

Is the EinScan HX discontinued?
It has been superseded in the EinScan range. The current professional equivalents are the EinScan Rigil for tri-mode handheld work and the EinScan Libre where colour fidelity is the priority.
Can I still buy an EinScan HX?
Not as new stock from our current range. If you specifically need an HX, tell us and we will say plainly what is and is not available rather than leave you guessing.
What was the HX good at?
Hybrid capture on awkward surfaces and on-site work: blue LED for colour and general scanning, blue laser for dark, glossy and detailed geometry, in a handheld body with a built-in colour camera.
What replaced it?
For most people the EinScan Rigil — the same tri-mode idea, faster and with a wider field of view. Where colour is the point, the EinScan Libre; where the tolerance has to be proved, a FreeScan metrology handheld.
Do you still support HX machines?
Talk to us with the specific consumable or part and we will tell you what is available. We would rather answer that question honestly than promise support we cannot deliver.
How much does an EinScan HX cost in Malaysia?
It is no longer a current-range price. Tell us what you need to scan and we will quote the current model that does the job — the honest answer is usually cheaper than hunting for an old one.
