Wireless Multifunctional Laser Handheld 3D Scanner
The FreeScan UE Pro2 is a wireless handheld laser 3D scanner designed for on-the-go metrology applications. It features ultra-fast scanning speeds of up to 3,460,000 points per second, making it twice as efficient as its predecessor. With patented binocular photogrammetry technology, it delivers highly accurate volumetric scans without the need for coded targets. Weighing just 950g, it is portable, durable, and ideal for scanning large or intricate objects in diverse environments, including both indoor and outdoor settings.
With a scan speed up to 3,460,000 points/s, tasks are completed smoothly, enhancing productivity in inspection applications.
Different from traditional photogrammetry methods, SHINING 3D’s binocular photogrammetry technology eliminates the usage of coded targets, reducing preparation time by at least half while maintaining the same high level of volumetric accuracy.
With a volumetric accuracy of up to 0.02 mm + 0.015 mm/m using photogrammetry, the FreeScan UE Pro2 delivers consistent and reliable global accuracy and scanning results.
SHINING 3D’s Accuracy Laboratory, accredited by CNAS in accordance with ISO 17025, ensures rigorous calibration of optical metrology. Based on VDI/VDE 2634 guidelines, the laboratory guarantees the traceability of measurement processes and calibration results.
The FreeScan UE Pro2 excels in both indoor and outdoor environments, making it versatile for any work setting

The UE Pro2 is the compact general-purpose metrology handheld: a 0.95 kg scanner that holds 0.02 mm accuracy and reaches 3,460,000 points/s across 50 laser lines, with a 7-line fine mode and a single-line mode for deep pockets. Patented binocular photogrammetry is built in, so volumetric accuracy tightens to 0.02 + 0.015 mm/m without coded targets — the reason it can be trusted on a long part rather than only within one field of view.
| Model | Form | Documented accuracy | Choose it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| FreeScan UE Pro2 | 0.95 kg handheld, 50 laser lines, 7-line fine mode, single-line deep pocket, built-in binocular photogrammetry | 0.02 mm; volumetric 0.02 + 0.03 mm/m, or 0.02 + 0.015 mm/m with photogrammetry; up to 3,460,000 points/s | The all-round handheld: detailed parts and mid-size assemblies, inspection and reverse engineering |
| FreeScan UE Nova | Wireless handheld with an extra-large field of view and three working ranges | Volumetric 0.062 mm over 12 m³; 0.046 + 0.012 mm/m with VPG; up to 2600 × 2200 mm FOV | The object is large enough that reach and field of view decide the job |
| FreeScan Trak Nova | Dynamic tracking system: separate tracker plus a detachable handheld scanner | Volumetric 0.062 mm over 12 m³; 0.046 + 0.012 mm/m with VPG | You want the frame held by a tracker, not by markers on the part |
| FreeScan Trak Pro2 | Tracked measuring system with dynamic referencing and an optional contact probe | 0.023 mm; volumetric 0.062 mm at 9.6 m³; photogrammetry 0.044 + 0.012 mm/m | Repeated measurement of the same large assembly, where repeatability matters more than portability |
Not sure which of these your drawing needs? the buyer’s guide works through part size, surfaces and the tolerance you must prove.
0.02 mm, with volumetric accuracy of 0.02 + 0.03 mm/m — tightening to 0.02 + 0.015 mm/m when its built-in photogrammetry is engaged. Systems are certified to VDI/VDE 2634 Part 3 in an ISO 17025 accredited accuracy laboratory, so the figure is testable rather than nominal.
Up to 3,460,000 points/s across 50 laser lines, with a 7-line fine mode for detail and a single-line mode for deep pockets, holes and slots.
Not for the global frame: binocular photogrammetry is built in and works without coded targets. Markers are still useful on featureless surfaces, which is true of every optical scanner.
Field of view is 600 × 550 mm with a point distance from 0.01 mm, so it covers everything from a detailed bracket to a machine frame — with photogrammetry holding accuracy over long parts.
It is quoted per configuration, because the package depends on the software modules, whether you need the contact probe workflow, and the calibration you require. Tell us what you need to measure and we will quote against it.
