- Dynamic tracking
- Marker-free scanning
The FreeScan UE Nova is a wireless metrology-grade 3D scanner designed for efficient and precise scanning of large objects. It features an extra-large field of view (FOV) of 2.6 × 2.2 meters and a maximum scanning distance of 2.6 meters, making it ideal for large-scale projects.
Equipped with 50 laser lines, the scanner enables ultra-fast data capture, significantly reducing scanning time. Its integrated Video Photogrammetry (VPG) utilizes SHINING 3D’s patented video-based photogrammetry without the need for coded markers, ensuring consistent volumetric accuracy.
The FreeScan UE Nova offers a flexible field of view with three selectable working ranges—Near (300–800 mm), Standard (600–1500 mm), and Far (1200–2600 mm)—adapting to various on-site conditions. Its wireless and lightweight design enhances portability and ease of use, making it suitable for applications in industries such as engineering machinery, energy, automotive, and cultural creation.
FreeScan UE Nova offers expansive coverage, delivering unparalleled efficiency and flexibility.

The UE Nova is the FreeScan built for reach. Its field of view extends to 2600 × 2200 mm with a maximum scanning distance of 2.6 m, and it offers three selectable working ranges — near (300–800 mm), standard (600–1500 mm) and far (1200–2600 mm) — so you adapt the scanner to conditions on site rather than reposition the part. Volumetric accuracy is 0.062 mm over 12 m³, tightening to 0.046 + 0.012 mm/m with integrated VPG, which needs no coded markers.
| Model | Form | Documented accuracy | Choose it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| FreeScan UE Nova | Wireless handheld, three working ranges, FOV up to 2600 × 2200 mm, max scanning distance 2.6 m, 1.6 kg | Volumetric 0.062 mm over 12 m³; 0.046 + 0.012 mm/m with VPG; 50 laser lines | Large objects where reach and field of view decide how long the job takes |
| FreeScan UE Pro2 | 0.95 kg handheld, 50 laser lines, 7-line fine mode, deep-pocket mode | 0.02 mm; volumetric 0.02 + 0.03 mm/m, or 0.02 + 0.015 mm/m with photogrammetry | The work is detailed parts and mid-size assemblies rather than large structures |
| FreeScan Trak Nova | The same scanner family with a separate dynamic tracker and a detachable handheld | Volumetric 0.062 mm over 12 m³; 0.046 + 0.012 mm/m with VPG | You want the global frame held by a tracker while you move freely around the part |
Its field of view reaches 2600 × 2200 mm and its maximum scanning distance is 2.6 m, with three working ranges to match the conditions on site. Volumetric accuracy of 0.062 mm is specified over a 12 m³ volume.
Reach versus precision on detail. The UE Nova gives you a much larger field of view and greater working distance for large objects; the UE Pro2 is lighter and holds 0.02 mm accuracy with a fine mode for dense detail. Where a job needs both, we usually pair one of these with a tracked system.
No — integrated video photogrammetry (VPG) holds the global frame without coded markers, which is what keeps volumetric accuracy consistent across a large part.
Yes. It runs in wireless or wired mode over fibre optic, so you can work without a cable where that suits the site and connect where a stable link matters more.
Quoted per configuration — the package depends on software modules and the calibration documentation your quality system requires. Tell us the largest part you measure and the tolerance you must hold.
