A useful shorthand: CO2 for wood and acrylic, fiber for metal, UV for glass and fine plastic. MOPA is a fiber laser with extra pulse control — it’s what unlocks colour engraving on stainless steel.

Which laser engraver is best for a small business in Malaysia?

Can a laser engraving machine cut metal?
Fiber lasers can cut thin metal sheet (the F2 Ultra cuts brass and stainless steel to 2 mm). CO2 and diode lasers cannot cut bare metal. For thicker metal, the MetalFab cuts carbon steel to 10 mm.
