What is the xTool P3?

It is xTool's flagship CO₂ laser: a professional-grade evolution of the P2S built for small-business production. The P3 pairs an 80W CO₂ laser and a 36″ × 18″ bed with the ACS™ automated workflow and Class 1 safety — industrial performance in a desktop footprint.

How is the P3 different from the P2S?

Power and capability: 80W CO₂ versus 55W, an optional 5W IR module for metal, and a working area 2.3× larger. Size and speed: a maximum speed around double (1,200 mm/s vs 600 mm/s). Depth: a built-in motorised AutoLift base gives 8.66″ (220 mm) of Z out of the box, where the P2S needs an optional manual riser. Cooling: a more advanced built-in inverter water chiller.

What does ACS™ actually automate?

Auto-positioning: close the lid and the dual cameras capture the whole workspace so your design lands exactly where you place it. Autofocus: the LiDAR ranging system measures the distance to the material's surface. AutoLift: the motorised base brings the material to the perfect focal point — no manual tools, no risers.

Is the P3 safe to run in a home or office?

Yes — it is a certified Class 1 laser. A high-precision perception system (8 IR sensors, a temperature sensor and side cameras) watches the bed, and CO₂ active fire suppression is built in. The P2S is a Class 4 machine and needs an optional Fire Safety Set; the P3 does not.

What can the P3 cut and engrave?

300+ materials: wood, acrylic (up to 25 mm), basswood (20 mm), leather, fabric, glass, rubber and more. The CO₂ wavelength cuts and engraves transparent acrylic and patterns glass — materials diode lasers cannot cut. With the optional 5W IR module it also engraves stainless steel and aluminium.

How big is the working area, and how tall can objects be?

The bed is 36″ × 18″ (915 × 458 mm) — about 2.3× the P2S — and the optional Intelligent Conveyor Feeder extends it to unlimited length. The AutoLift base handles objects up to 8.66″ (220 mm) tall and 35.3 lb (16 kg), so bulky items like briefcases and gift boxes engrave without extra hardware.
