Only the F2 Ultra UV does 3D inner engraving in glass and crystal, and only it can mark heat-sensitive materials without charring. Ask us which model fits your material list.
Which one, for what
Processing under the recommended parameters of xTool Studio — the machines differ in efficiency.
Only the F2 Ultra and the F1 Ultra can do 3D embossing. The only difference is power and efficiency.
Colour results, most vivid first: F2 Ultra > F1 Ultra > F2.
Cutting limits by model: F2 Ultra (2 mm brass, stainless steel, aluminium) > F1 Ultra (0.4 mm brass, 0.3 mm stainless steel, 0.2 mm aluminium). The F2 and F2 Ultra UV do not cut metal.
F2 Ultra UV wins. It excels at glass with crisp surface marks and stunning 3D internal engraving, delivering the highest clarity and consistency. Other F-series models are limited to surface engraving, and their results on transparent glass are noticeably less clear.

3D inner engraving
A UV laser is the optimal choice for detailed glass work. It enables permanent 3D inner engraving while keeping the surface entirely untouched. From glass blocks to crystal balls and beyond, every shape becomes a one-of-a-kind piece with real collectible value — and nothing is cut, coated or cleaned up afterwards.
Engraving a 3D image inside a crystal block — the surface stays untouched.

Inner engraving uses the 70 × 70 mm field lens; the pack includes the lens, riser, a K9 test block and calibration cards, all pre-calibrated.
Surface work
The F2 Ultra UV engraves microscopic details directly on glass with no preparation and no cleanup. It supports embossing, cutting and rotary engraving too — so a single machine covers flat glass, curved drinkware and shaped parts without sending anything out.
Embossing, cutting and rotary engraving are all supported on glass with the same machine.
Workflow & precision
Traditional glass engraving is a tedious, multi-step ordeal: surface coating, long drying times and messy post-wash scrubbing that can take over an hour per piece. The F2 Ultra UV engraves direct to surface, skips the prep entirely, and turns a 20-minute process into five minutes of pure creation. Beyond speed, UV technology is what makes the fine detail possible in the first place.
Workflow and precision comparisons are the manufacturer's published figures.
Cold processing
The UV laser's high photon energy breaks molecular bonds with minimal heat — no burns, no charring, no damage. That is why surface engraving on glass comes out bright and clean instead of brown, and why thin films, silicone and delicate plastics survive the process. No pre-coating, no polishing: just clean, precise results.
Cold processing — marking heat-sensitive material with no burns, charring or damage.
No pre-coating, no post-polishing, no washing — the part is finished when it leaves the bed.
Precision
Engineered for extreme precision, the F2 Ultra UV uses an ultra-fine laser spot that is much smaller than typical fibre or CO₂ lasers. Its optimised vector-fitting algorithm, with 0.001 mm resolution, brings every detail to life with stunning clarity — small text stays legible on jewellery, components and keepsakes.

Real users
Real businesses, incredible returns. Four UV owners on what the machine changed for them.

As an engineer, efficiency is everything. UV replaces the one-hour messy coating, engraving and washing process with ten-minute direct engraving. It handled a 102-piece wedding order effortlessly — the machine paid for itself in 2.5 months.

Since going full-time, UV became my growth engine. Adding premium details to our signature wedding bundles surged monthly sales by 3.75× — we have grown from a corner of the garage to the whole space, and are moving to a professional warehouse soon.

3D inner engraving is a new profit tier. We turn crystals into $40–$75 premium memorial pieces. At pop-up markets it draws crowds who stop to watch the live magic inside the glass, and it has secured our growth as a high-margin brand.

In my home studio quality is everything. While CO₂ leaves burn marks, UV delivers a clean, frosty look on glass and wood with zero charring. I now offer high-end memorial gifts — photo-etched hearts — that customers cherish for good.

Throughput you can bank
Every UV job carries a retail price, a material cost and a profit per unit — and the material cost is tiny next to what glass and crystal pieces sell for. Six examples from the xTool lab:

Vision
The industry’s first dual-camera UV laser system. Two cameras handle automatic positioning and focusing to 0.2 mm accuracy — 60% more precise than single-camera systems. Every process runs consistently, so every detail lands exactly where you imagined it.
Dual 48MP camera preview and autofocus at 0.2 mm accuracy.
0.2 mm positioning accuracy, with autofocus.
Capacity
Two switchable field lenses let the machine move between inner and surface engraving with a large workspace — the balance of power, size and engraving quality that production work needs. With the conveyor attached you gain even more flexibility and creative freedom.
Add the Auto Streamline conveyor to extend the working area for batch production.
Rotary, batch, curved
From 3D preview to perfect rotary engraving on rings, tumblers and curved parts.
Load, place and run a whole sheet of parts with camera-assisted positioning.
Mark curved glass and shaped surfaces without special fixtures.
Built to last
The F2 Ultra UV is a fully enclosed Class 4 laser system, built for a working studio. Enhanced laser sealing and drying improve humidity protection for a longer service life, and the airflow was shaped with fluid dynamics for efficient cooling and lower noise.

What makers say

We are getting some super fine detail and probably the cleanest engraving — actually it is not “probably”, it is the cleanest engraving out of any external laser so far.

What xTool has done a really good job of is making this process fairly simple. You can import a 3D model and then just place it wherever you want inside of the crystal.

The F2 Ultra UV is the jack-of-all-trades laser. It can work with almost every material across the board, and it can do 3D crystal engraving — this is the only type of laser that can do that.

With the F2 Ultra UV there is absolutely no cleanup and no signs of any residue.

FAQ
It delivers an all-in-one, commercial-grade solution for high-speed, premium glass work. Smooth, uniform, crack-free finishes — even on thin glass — support higher-margin products, and no pre-treatment or cleaning is needed. It supports 3D inner engraving, fine surface engraving, embossing and precision cutting in one machine, which also means less competition than the usual wood-and-acrylic work.
Glass and crystal read as premium next to wood or acrylic, so customers pay more for the same personalisation. Demand is growing across weddings and events, corporate gifting, souvenirs and luxury drinkware — and bringing that work in-house gives you faster sampling, quicker turnaround and control over costs.
Yes. 5W is the golden power level for a desktop UV system: with UV, performance is not driven by wattage alone. Short wavelengths and high-energy photons break molecular bonds with minimal heat, so this “cold processing” delivers far higher energy density and precision than a comparable thermal laser. 15,000 mm/s and 3D inner engraving at around 60% power still leave headroom.
Ease of use, automation, speed, scalability and inner-engraving quality: one-click 3D model generation from an image or text with Atomm presets; dual 48MP camera automation with 0.2 mm positioning; up to 15,000 mm/s with inner-engraving algorithms up to 180% faster than standard systems; dual field lenses, the largest working area in its class and conveyor support; plus exclusive stabilisation and power compensation for even results across large areas.
One inner engraving lens, one riser, one K9 glass block for testing and calibration, and three inner engraving calibration cards. Inner and surface engraving use different lenses, and this pre-calibrated pack lets you switch between the two modes accurately.
