xTool F2 Ultra — questions we get asked

What's the difference between the F2 Ultra, F2 Ultra (Single) and F1 Ultra?

The F2 Ultra is equipped with both a 60W MOPA fibre laser and a 40W diode laser — best for users who want maximum versatility in materials and processes, with colour marking on metals, deep engraving, cutting and non-metal processing. The F2 Ultra (Single) carries only the 60W MOPA fibre laser, better for users who mainly work with metal. The F1 Ultra uses a Q-switched fibre laser with a 20W fibre and 20W diode, a single camera and speeds up to 10,000 mm/s — best for standard metal marking and entry-level needs.

Is LightBurn compatible with the F2 Ultra?

No. To protect user data transmission, the F2 Ultra is no longer compatible with LightBurn — the previous access protocols were all open protocols. Use xTool Creative Space or xTool Studio.

What's the maximum cutting thickness for metals?

The F2 Ultra cuts brass and stainless steel up to 2 mm, silver up to 1 mm and gold up to 0.2 mm. Engraving depth depends on the material and settings, but the 60W MOPA fibre laser delivers deep, precise results across a wide range of metals. Laser processing is subtractive, so precious metals like gold and silver may experience minor loss.

What materials can be engraved with the F2 Ultra?

Almost all materials. Metals like gold, silver, aluminium, stainless steel (in multiple colours), platinum and titanium (in multiple colours), and non-metals like wood, acrylic, plastic, slate, glass, paper and cardboard.

What is the warranty?

The F2 Ultra comes with a 12-month warranty. As the local reseller we handle warranty support in Malaysia — contact us for details of what is covered.

How large is the working area?

The working area is 8.6 × 8.6 inches (220 × 220 mm), expanding to 8.6 × 19.6 inches (220 × 500 mm) with the conveyor.

Can I see the F2 Ultra running before I buy?
