The Elfin-Ex is a production cobot rebuilt around an explosion-proof architecture —

An explosion-proof cobot is not a cobot with a sealed coat. The Elfin-Ex uses a leak-compensated positive
pressure system with ignition-source medium isolation and a multiple-sealing structure — so the arm can
be certified, not just advertised.

What is the Huayan Elfin-Ex?

Is it actually certified?
Yes. The robot carries national explosion-proof certification from NEPSI to GB/T 3836-2021, and the marking is Ex ib pxb IIC T6 Gb / Ex ib pxb IIIC T80 °C Db — covering gas atmospheres (group IIC, T6) and combustible dust (group IIIC, T80 °C). We share the certification documents that apply to your project before you commit.
How does an explosion-proof cobot actually work?
Three systems work together: a leak-compensated positive-pressure envelope keeps the internal pressure above the hazardous atmosphere so explosive gas and dust cannot enter; ignition-source medium isolation separates spark-capable components from the environment; and a multi-seal housing closes every joint and cable entry. The positive pressure is monitored in real time with power-off protection.

Which Elfin-Ex model do I need?
The same way you would size any cobot: payload (including the gripper) and reach. E05F (7 kg / 800 mm) is the compact entry into hazardous work, E10F and E10F-L cover 10–12 kg at up to 1300 mm, E12F reaches 1800 mm, and the E15F carries 18 kg. Tell us the part and the cell layout and we will size it with you.
Can the control box sit outside the hazardous area?
Yes — that is the economic configuration: the arm is protected but the control box stands in a safe area, connected by cable up to 20 m (15–20 m, customizable). In the standard configuration both the arm and the control box are explosion-proof and may sit inside the zone.
How do we operate it inside the zone?
With the explosion-proof teach pendant and tablet — wireless range up to 50 m, so the cell can be set up, jogged and monitored from outside or at a distance inside the plant. Operators are trained on your own cell.
What protection and temperature does it carry?
IP66 — dust-tight and protected against water jets — over an operating range of −20 to 40 °C, on a 200–240 V AC (220 V nominal) supply.
Do you provide installation, training and support in Malaysia?
Yes — the full lifecycle: zone and feasibility assessment, demonstration, integration, installation and commissioning, programming, operator training, spare parts and service contracts. Trinventor Solution is an authorized distributor of Huayan Robotics in Malaysia, so parts and support do not depend on an overseas flight.
