See the Fuse X1 in Action
Official films from Formlabs — inside the most productive SLS printer, the ecosystem end to end,
how SLS works and what the printer can do.
Selective Laser Sintering fuses powder layer by layer with a laser. Because the surrounding powder supports every overhang, SLS needs no supports, frees internal channels and complex geometry, and produces strong, functional, production-grade parts.
What can the Fuse X1 print?
Full-size functional parts and dense production batches within a 330 × 330 × 565 mm build volume — from single large components like e-bike frames and car-door prototypes to 3,280-part runs of mixer latches in one 41.5-hour build.
How fast is the Fuse X1?
Up to 0.330 kg/hour of throughput, with 30%+ packing density and up to 3× the throughput of legacy SLS systems in less than half the floor space. Large parts come off overnight; batches of thousands print in days.
Which materials does it run?
Nylon 12 as the production workhorse, with Nylon 11* joining by the end of 2026 and Nylon 12 GF and TPU 90A** by June 2027, plus Nylon 12 Tough, Nylon 12 White and Polypropylene. Open Material Mode runs any qualified 1064 nm powder.
Does SLS need support structures?
No — the powder bed supports the part throughout the print. There are no supports to design, print or remove, and internal channels that resin or FDM cannot reach print free.
What post-processing is required?
Breakout happens in the Sift X1's sealed glovebox with compressed air; Fuse Blast then cleans and polishes finished parts in about 15 minutes, leaving dye-ready surfaces. We supply, install and support the full ecosystem.
What keeps the Fuse X1 reliable in production?
Print Intelligence adds AI print-failure prevention: computer vision plus Adaptive Temperature Control across 13 independent heating zones detects anomalies in real time and masks the affected area, protecting the rest of the build. Proactive maintenance alerts keep the machine ready.
What installation does it need?
A 1.13 m² footprint — it rolls through a standard doorway — a 208–240 VAC single-phase 50 A supply, and anexternal inert gas (nitrogen) connection. The printer installs in about an hour, and most operators start their first print within minutes. We handle installation in Malaysia.
Fuse X1 or Fuse 1+ 30W — which should I choose?
The Fuse 1+ 30W suits smaller benchtop runs. The Fuse X1 adds a 61.5-litre build volume (7.5×), higher throughput, nitrogen printing and production-scale packing for dense batches. Send us your parts and volumes and we will help you compare.
How much does the Formlabs Fuse X1 cost in Malaysia?
Price depends on configuration: printer, powder starter selection, Sift X1 and Fuse Blast options, inert gas setup, plus delivery, installation and operator training. Request a quote and we will send a complete Malaysian quotation with lead time.
Can I get a sample part before buying?
Yes — free sample parts are available so you can test finish and material feel firsthand. Send us your part file and application details, and we will advise on powder, orientation and the right configuration for Malaysia.
