FORMLABS MALAYSIA · LARGE-FORMAT MASKED SLA (MSLA) RESIN 3D PRINTER
Formlabs Form 4L
Large-format resin printing at LFD speed — a 24.2-litre build volume that takes full-size parts in one piece, large prints finished in under 6 hours, and the same 46 µm precision as the Form 4, from a machine anyone can learn in 15 minutes.
Bigger where it counts — 353 × 196 × 350 mm build volume (24.2 L), 4.6× the Form 4
Large prints in under 6 hours; up to 80 mm/hour maximum print speed
46 µm XY pixel size with ±0.15% XY accuracy on small features
19 Formlabs materials — tough, rigid, flexible, clear, high temp — plus Open Material Mode and dual resin cartridges
Supplied, installed and supported in Malaysia — with Form Wash L and Form Cure L
The Form 4L scales Formlabs' Low Force Display engine up to large-format parts — full-size prototypes,
moulds and production tools leave the printer in hours, not the overnight-plus runtimes of large-format FDM and older SLA.
Solve Big Problems With Big Parts
353 × 196 × 350 mm build volume (24.2 litres) — 4.6× the Form 4, enough for large enclosures, ducts, moulds and assemblies in a single piece
Large prints in under 6 hours — the class of part that takes days of machine time on large-format FDM *
One big part, or a plate of many — print time stays nearly the same as the part count grows
80 mm/hour maximum print speed, with the time estimate shown in PreForm before you start
The Large-Format Ecosystem
Form 4L printer — MSLA with the LFD engine, a 145-LED backlight and the Light Processing Unit 4L
Form Wash L and Form Cure L — automated cleaning and post-curing sized for the Form 4L platform
Dual next-generation cartridges — automatic resin handling with 5–10× faster filling and 63% less waste
PreForm and Dashboard — prepare, print, monitor and manage every job from one workflow
Low Force Display™, Scaled Up for 4L
Form 4L keeps the print-engine principles of the Form 4 and grows them. The Backlight Unit now uses
145 uniform-wavelength LEDs behind a plano-convex lens array, delivering 405 nm light at 16 mW/cm² to the cure plane,
while the Light Processing Unit 4L patterns down to a 46 µm pixel — so big parts keep fine detail
and sharp edges across the whole platform.
LPU 4L, Release Texture and a flexible-film resin tank work together to cut peel forces across the 24.2-litre build area
Z-axis force sensor continuously tunes print quality and speed to the part geometry and material
Light-touch supports release by hand — less post-processing and fewer marks, even on large parts
High-speed conduction resin heating with infrared sensing, 25–45 °C per material, drawn from two cartridges
Large-format printing usually means compromise — the Form 4L is the exception: full-size parts at the
fidelity the Form 4 made normal.

Large Prints in Under 6 Hours
Moulds, brackets, panels and production fixtures at resin quality — without large-format FDM runtimes.
From the official Form 4L film — a finished part, minutes after the last layer.
Print Big, Print Fast
Large prints finish in under 6 hours — and print time stays nearly the same whether the platform holds one big part or a full plate of smaller ones.
24.2 Litres of Build Volume
4.6× the Form 4 — a 353 × 196 × 350 mm envelope for full-size parts, deep housings and multi-part nests in one job.
Large Moulds and Tooling
Mould halves, forming tools and jigs printed in hours for in-house production — iterate a tool overnight, back in production by morning.
Functional Large Parts
Threaded inserts, motor housings and load-bearing brackets in tough engineering resins — parts that go straight onto the machine.
Production-Intent Parts
Full-scale components with the finish and tolerance to assemble first time — printed parts measured against CAD, not eyeballed.
Transparent & Fluidic Parts
Clear Resin prints light guides, fluidic manifolds and transparent housings at full size, in one piece.
A full seat prototype in a single build — the class of part that used to be split into sections and bonded back together.
So Intuitive, Anyone Learns in 15 Minutes
The Form 4L runs the same four-step rhythm as every Formlabs printer — prepare, print, wash and cure, then finish —
with the heavy lifting automated in PreForm and Dashboard.
Prepare: one-click print setup with auto-orientation, auto-supports and live printability checks on large parts
Print: validated settings per material, automatic resin dispensing from dual cartridges, remote print start
Post-process: Form Wash L and Form Cure L are sized for full-platform parts, not small batches
Finish: light-touch supports and clean release, with optional sanding, coating or painting
New operators are productive on day one — large-format printing without the specialist overhead.
PreForm prepares orientation and supports automatically; Dashboard keeps the printer and its jobs in view.
Stunning Parts That Always Fit
Sharpest details, smoothest surfaces, accurate assemblies — at more than four times the size.
Sharpest Details
46 µm pixel size with pre-tuned anti-aliasing resolves fine features and sharp edges across the full build area.
Smoothest Surfaces
Lower peel forces and light-touch supports leave surfaces clean enough to rival moulded parts.
Most Accurate Assemblies
±0.15% XY tolerance on 1–30 mm features — large parts and their mating components fit the first time.
Long-Lasting Consumables
Flexible-film tanks, dual cartridges and light-touch supports keep running costs and material waste down.
Measured against CAD after printing — large parts arrive straight into assembly, not into rework.
Built to Stay Printing
Validated settings, six control sensors and remote monitoring keep the Form 4L productive day after day.
Validated Print Settings
Every Formlabs resin ships with settings validated in-house — a proven recipe for each material, no experimentation required.
Intelligent Control Systems
Six upgraded sensors watch resin temperature, level, print forces and status — catching issues before they become failed prints.
Remote Monitoring
Watch jobs from anywhere via Dashboard, with the integrated 5 MP camera capturing timelapses of every build.
Uniform Light Field
145 backlight LEDs behind a collimating lens array deliver identical light across the whole platform — edge-to-edge consistency on big parts.
Low-Peel Release Texture
The release texture and flexible-film tank cut peel forces print after print, protecting both the part and the film.
Post-Processing at Scale
Form Wash L cleans and Form Cure L precision-cures full-platform parts, so finishing never becomes the bottleneck.
